Conclusion

All in all a beautifully made product in which (given the above results) cools the Processor down to acceptable levels even under fairly high speeds. However the installation of the product was a little ‘fiddly’ and that the fans were not truly face-on with the cooler so some air may have escaped around the sides. Also since the product comes with anti-vibration rubber mounts they had an issue where they kept on slipping out of place. Luckily Spire bundle a few extra of these mounts just in case. Having said this the mounting of the Eclipse Two was perfect, the screws could not be ‘over tightened’ by the end-user so that the bracket will not damage the motherboard. The manual was clear and easy to read (unlike most which are nothing more than photo copied instructions)

Upon handling the Eclipse two you get instantly get a feeling of quality and durability. The fans seem to perform well and really help the cooler to do its work. Lastly the heat dissipating fins are a little more robust than most and do not bend easy. Overclockers Tech though primarly a water cooling site, we have come to appreciate this product by its own merits and it should stock up with many other coolers in the market. As mentioned previously the mounting mechanism was second to none-even given with the complicated job of being compatible with a myriad of differing sockets.

Pros:

  • Robust
  • Quality Feel
  • Comes with two fans
  • Mounting mechanism is second-to-none!
  • Clear Assembly Instructions

Cons:

  • Fans are not exactly ‘square’ with the cooler letting a little air escape
  • Fan mounts can be a little fiddly to install.

All in all a beautiful first result by Spire-Corp and a work of wonder-if only marred by a very small scar re: fan mounts. Overclockerstech are happy to award the Spire-Corp ‘Eclipse Two’ a score of 8.5 out of ten and therefore a Silver award.
