Testing

Rather than go through a pretentious testing procedure, we opted for a far more realistic approach and subjected to the coolers to everyday use. One that the product would undergo when used in conjunction with a notebook.

Test platform: CPU T2310 Dual core 1.47 Ghz 2GB ram 160 GB hdd Laptop with the ambient air room temperatures being ambient 21.5C throughout all tests carried out. All results were tested after two hours of general use with the ‘before’ readings taken whilst the notebook was resting on the ‘lap’

The performance of the Lapair is the only feature that makes this product a worth while purchase. Having said the former one must take into account that the EVO model costs only six pounds-sterling more.

Conclusion

Lapair: We feel that Coolermaster did not put any effort into this really. Nothing-feature wise shows it any different from the competition! Its lack of features and bland looks makes it fail to rise above mediocrity. However in all fairness it does perform well and is available for around £19 Sterling so this really does make it shine in that respect.

Pros:

  • Performs Well
  • Can be purchased for a very reasonable price
  • Memory Foam underneath to promote comfort whilst operating.

Cons:

  • Bland
  • Nothing different from the myriad of other coolers out there.
  • Uninspired
  • No unique features.

Infinite EVO: This is a fantastic and creative cooler. The performance numbers surely speak for itself, combined with some fantastic ideas and features it really does shine heads above the rest. It was a really good idea to place the fans underneath the most critical areas of a notebook as compared to a single fan in the centre like other models. We are so impressed that the author of this article is purchasing a second of the EVO models in order to keep his ‘Netbook’ cool. Well done Coolermaster. To add a nice bonus, the  aforementioned model can be bought for only six pounds more than the ‘lapair’ Lastly Coolermaster have been more than honest with their percentages and given these figures it actually performs up to 40% more than the Lapair. Well done.

Pros:

  • Performs very well
  • Can be Purchased at a fair price
  • Two 80mm fans
  • Shape of the cooler
  • Fans under critical areas-good move Coolermaster
  • Three port USB

Cons:

  • Fans cannot be changed.

Awards for the Lapair and the Infinite EVO

The Lapair deserves a 6/10 score and is award a Bronze only due to the fact that is performs well and can be purchased for a budget price.

The Infinite EVO Performs even better and is actually very feature rich. Its unique looks combined with the performance and quality then throwing in the issue that is can be bought for a good price really is icing on the cake! As a result the EVO has achieved not only a 9/10 and therefore a gold award but also our editors choice medal as well.
